The approach to shanthipura is close to the city along the nuwara eliya-kandy road. There is the place called kalapura in shanthipura where from a lookout one can see the Piduruthalagala, Adams peak, Lake Gregory, Hakgala Mountain and the surroundings of the nuwara eliya town. Bharatanatyam is one of the most famous dance traditions in India with a long history and is very popular in Tamil Nadu, South India. This dance has 6 elements. The word Bharatanatyam means an emotional, rhythmic, musical dance. In short, Bharatanatyam is a combination of mood, stage and rhythm. Well-known dancers are of the opinion that this dance gives relaxation to the body, good exercise and improves blood circulation. The Indians believe that Lord Shiva is the master of this dance. That is why this is done with the utmost purity. Silk saris or beautiful saris made of embroideries are used for this dance. Currently, male and female dancers from all over the world are practicing this dance. A choir and a band contribute to these Bharatanatyam performances by a solo dancer.
